not so musical me.

Growing up I always had this ambition to play the guitar. About four years ago my dad bought me a guitar to help me further those ambitions. No matter what you were trying to accomplish my dad was always there to push you forward and help you weather you succeed or not. But the problem with my ambition was that I was nowhere close to having one ounce of musical talent besides being in the school Christmas play in third grade. I was hoping that I could take classes to learn how to play but the prices were too high, and to add to it, you had to be able to read music notes. This was where I failed. When I say “not musically talented” that’s exactly what I mean. I couldn’t play a guitar note if my life depended on it, and I am far from being able to read a sheet of music, let alone the notes on that sheet of music. I bough tutorial books and cds to try and teach myself how to read music notes and to help me with finger placement on the guitar strings. Once again failing to teach myself how to do this. Which also takes me to 7th grade where I took classes to play the flute and since I couldn’t read notes my teacher just taught me which holes to use when playing certain songs so that made it easier for me to play the flute. Neither really worked out for me so ever since then I haven’t tried to play any instruments but hopefully someday I can conquer the gutair.

  1. Emilly,
I am the worst singer ever. I really, really wish I had some musical talent so I can relate. Soon with your college degree you'll be making the big bucks and you'll be able to afford lessons.

Pictures? Do you have a picture of your guitar or of you "playing"? Think about this blog visually.
